Mathematics is a tool of physical expression and calculation, and mathematical model as well as mathematical logic methods such as induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis are essential to solve physical problems. These require physics teachers to strengthen the penetration of mathematics knowledge and methods in physics teaching. At present, the curriculum structure of middle schools in China emphasizes too much on the separated subjects, and lacks integration among subjects, while the new curriculum reform advocates changing the subject-based courses and emphasizing subject integration.Based on my own teaching practice, the author found that some mathematics knowledge needed to solve physics problems in senior one is ahead of the teaching progress of mathematics discipline, and that physics teachers often fail to pay enough attention to the mathematics knowledge and methods needed in physics. Thus, students have to face not only the difficulties of understanding the laws of physics concepts, but also the difficulties brought about by the lack of mathematical knowledge and methods in physics learning. In view of the above phenomenon, with my own two equivalent classes as the research object, and through the experimental method and the questionnaire interview method, the author carried out a one-year comparative experiment on the introducing necessary mathematical knowledge and methods in advance into physics teaching in senior one was carried out.Through a questionnaire survey of students'knowledge of the importance of mathematics knowledge and methods to physics learning before and after the experiment, and the collection and analysis of such data as physical test during the experiment and a questionnaire survey on the effect of students',applying relevant mathematical knowledge and methods to solving physical problems after the experiment, the author explored the following three questions:1.Is it helpful to students' physical learning by introducing necessary mathematical knowledge and methods into physics teaching in advance?2.In what way is it helpful to students9 physical learning by introducing necessary mathematical knowledge and methods into physics teaching in advance?3.What is the mechanism of introducing necessary mathematical knowledge and methods into physics teaching in advance to help students learn physics? The analysis of experimental data shows that by introducing necessary mathematics knowledge and methods into physics teaching in advance in senior one can promote students' physics learning. To be specific, this kind of teaching method can promote students'interest in physics learning and improve students' ability to use relevant mathematical knowledge and methods in solving physics problems. The reason why the teaching method has a positive effect on students' physics learning are as follows:1.This teaching method is equivalent to the scaffolding of mathematics knowledge and methods for students to solve relevant physics problems. When students use new physics concepts and laws to solve physics problems, physical concepts and laws can be easily transferred into mathematical expressions.2.Introducing necessary mathematics knowledge and method in physics teaching in advance makes most students realize the importance of mathematics knowledge and method to physics problem solving in advance. In this way, students will consciously apply mathematical knowledge and methods to physics learning. When students can consciously apply mathematics knowledge and methods to the solution of physics problems, students'physics learning will be improved. The confidence and interest in physics learning will also increase as students experience more and more success in transferring mathematics knowledge to physics learning.
