In old Chinese society for thousands of years,women were confined to the family.Moreover,their ultimate goal in life is to be a good wife and mother.Since modern times,women have been able to break through gender restrictions,receive professional training in new schools,to change their destiny by studying,and strive for the same social rights as men.There are more than 10,000 Chinese women studying abroad in modern times.However,the existing researches have neglected the study of female groups studying in France.In modern China,the number of women studying in France was only less than the United States.Among the female groups studying in France,female college teachers stand out because of their distinct group characteristics.They were deeply influenced by the French revolutionary culture,and made important contributions to the women's liberation movement and modern higher education in China.This study takes female college teachers who have studyed in France as the research object.Firstly,it analyses the social background of the formation of this group.Secondly,it summarizes the general situation of the group.Thirdly,it expounds three ways for female college teachers to study in France.Fourthly,it describes their study and social activities in France.Finally,it expounds the female college teachers studying in France from four aspects: teaching,academic research,school management and social services.In this process,through the analysis of three cases of Zheng Yuxiu,Pan Yuliang and Feng Yuanjun,the uniqueness of the group will be highlighted.This study is divided into six parts:The first part discusses the background of Chinese women studying in France in modern times.The development of women's education in modern China provided the basis and platform for women to study in France.The limitations of women's higher education in modern China urged women to seek higher education opportunities.Influenced by the French revolutionary culture and the development of the “Work-study” Campaign in France,the group gradually formed.Part two discusses the general situation of the group from four aspects: region,family,educational background and major.The geographical distribution is advancing from the southeast coast to the inland,and it is greatly influenced by the Work-study Campaign.The family structure is mostly composed of official families,intellectuals' families and businessmen' families,which are mainly influenced by economic factors.The academic structure before studying in France is generally composed of secondary and higher education.After returning home,most of them have received doctor's degrees.The professional structure is dominated by social sciences and arts.The third part discusses that this group had a strong desire for knowledge.They overcame many difficulties and went to France to study in three ways.Taking Zheng Yuxiu as an example,this paper describes Zheng Yuxiu's struggle with feudal ethics,and finally studied in France to find the true meaning of life.Part four discusses the study and social activities of the group in France.In the free cultural environment of France,they broadened their horizons and gradually moved from closed to open.Emphasis is laid on the fact that they actively participated in many revolutionary activities in France.Taking Pan Yuliang as an example,it describes Pan Yuliang's efforts to reshape herself during her studying abroad life.The fifth part discusses their achievements in four aspects: teaching,academic research,school management and social services.Under the influence of French educational experience,they generally adopted new teaching methods,focusing on the attractiveness and intuition of teaching.In academic research,they tended to pay attention to the comprehensive analysis of interdisciplinary.In school management,they took care of students with an equal attitude.And they actively participate in social services with strong revolutionary attitudes.It takes Feng Yuanjun as an example.Part Six is a summary.The formation of the group is the result of the comprehensive effect of the fate of the country and the emancipation of women.They had successfully reconstructed the status of modern women in the multi-cultural conflict.They actively engaged in the higher education of modern China and made important contributions.Besides,they developmented the movement of women's emancipation.Furthermore,they awakened the consciousness of women's participation in politics,and promoted the exchange of education and cultural between China and France.
