The movement of population is a common social phenomenon in human society.Since the 1990 s,with the establishment of the market economy system in China, and the further loosening of the restrictions on population mobility, the expansion of regional economic gap and the gap between urban and rural development has been triggered large-scale and sustained population mobility and migration nationwide.Since 2014,the topic of inflow and outflow of northeast China has become a hot topic academically.By analyzing the changes of the total population in northeast China from 2000 to 2017,and measuring population outflows in northeast of China,it is found that the natural growth rate of population in northeast China is obviously lower than the national level, and the gap is gradually widening, the net outflow of population in northeast China has been obvious in recent years, the population of permanent residents in northeast China accounting for the population dropped year by year. Therefore, this paper chose the residence intention of the outflow population in different cities in northeast China as the research subject, and carefully studied the overall characteristics, group characteristics and influencing factors of the outflow population, which had important practical significance for a better understanding of the outflow population in northeast China.Based on the dynamic monitoring data of the floating population in China in2017,this paper found that economic reasons were the main reasons for the outflow of the population in northeast China.Among them, the floating population for work and business accounted for 63.4% and 17.4% respectively, and the total proportion of the two was 80.8%.In addition, the outflow population in northeast China had a strong desire to live in other cities. The floating population was divided into different groups according to demographic variables such as gender, ethnicity, political identity, marriage status, and household registration type and education level.By comparing the differences of residence intention in different groups,it was found that men, ethnic minorities, members of the communist party of China(CPC)or the communist youth league(CYL),married people,non-agricultural and highly educated migrants were more willing to live in other cities.A logistic regression model was established for empirically analyzing the effects of various factors, and it was found thatnon-agricultural,spousal and educational variables could significantly contribute to the residence intention of the floating population in northeast China. It also showed that the factors which reflected the economic conditions of the floating population in northeast China, like wage income, income and expenditure ratio, the employment status as well as the medical insurance, all these representative social status factors could significantly affect the residence intention in different cities.
