Since the new curriculum reform,college entrance examination pay more attention to regional geography.It is the duty and responsibility of high school geography teachers to carry out regional geography teaching based on "regional cognition" literacy and improve high school geography teaching.Based on the analysis of relevant research progress at home and abroad,this paper firstly scientifically defines the concepts of "geographical core literacy" and "regional cognition",and further analyzes the theoretical significance of "structuralism theory" and "constructivism theory" in this research.While learning,students mainly have the following problems :(1)poor scientific awareness of regional view;(2)poor ability of independent construction;(3)a poor view of regional scale;These problems lead to many obstacles in forming the core competence.It is a must to change the teaching mode and students' way of thinking.Based on the above problems,the author comes up with four strategies :(1)to cultivate students' regional cognitive ability using mind maps;(2)to improve students' regional cognitive quality by cultivating students' cooperative ability;(3)to strengthen pictures and texts practice and learning efficiency;(4)to cultivate students' analysis ability based on different spatial scales.Finally,in combination with the author's teaching practice,this paper further introduces its viewpoints and conclusion using the cases of "China's climate analysis","northwest region climate analysis",and "Mount Tianshan region climate analysis".
