With the role of higher education in national development and international competition has become increasingly prominent,countries increased investment in higher education.Discipline is the foundation for cultivating high-quality creative talents,and is the base for promoting knowledge innovation and promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practical productivity.The development of disciplines is especially important.So how is the development of the discipline evaluated and measured?Among them,the subject ranking is one of the most commonly used academic evaluation standards in the world.The importance of disciplines has become increasingly prominent,and the ranking of disciplines has increasingly become a hot topic of theoretical research.But the rationality of the subject rankings has been questioned,just as the university rankings are in dispute.The core of the subject ranking is the ranking indicator system,which directly affects the scientific and rationality of the ranking.Therefore,this paper mainly studies the comparative analysis of the index system of subject ranking.This article compares the "Academic Ranking of World Universities"(ARWU),US News and World Report(US News),Quacquarelli Symonds(QS)and Times Higher Education(Times Higher Education(referred to as THE)four university subject ranking indicators system,the scientific and rationality of subject classification,evaluation indicators,index weights,ranking methods and data sources in the subject ranking,discussing the advantages and advantages of different discipline ranking indicators Insufficient,and then reveal the practical guiding significance of the ranking indicator system to the construction of university disciplines.Finally,it provides a reference for the correct understanding of the ranking of disciplines and the better construction of world-class disciplines in China.
