Since the U.S. News and report issued "the America’s Best Colleges"for the first time in1983,Britan,Germany,Ganada,China and many other countries also launched the university rankings.University ranking gradually become an important way of evaluating th university development.This approach plays an important role in the following aspects:help students to select right schools;guide the fund flows from goverment and society;prompt universities to find their own problemsistrengthen the competitions between universities;draw the attention of society to the university.Meanwhile.the scientificity and rationality of university ranking is also widely questioned.and the focus of this question mainly concentrated in the evaluation indicator systems.They are not only the foundation.but also the key to the quality of university.which play a decisive role for the ranking results.Therefore,by comparing the university ranking indicator systems at home and abroad.trace their evolution in the course,seeking the common features and individual features.then we can discusses the future development trend of university ranking indicator systems and instruct the construction fo high-level university in China.Firstly, we choose twelve university ranking indicator systems at home and abroad on the basis of substantial information,significant influence.analytical model.Then we deeply and concretely introduces the start.evolution,concept.index weight,personality of the university ranking indicator systems.Secondly.we find some common features from the definition of the indicators systems and the comparsion.The common features are presented below. The trend of primary indicators are consistent and comprehensive;Input and output indicators are dominated.but process indicators are slightly involved;The difference between absolute indicators and relative indicators is markedly;The setting of indicators weights in teaching and research is reasonable.The qualitative indicators are gradually drawing attention;Internationalization evaluation indicators are added;The ranking results use digital ranking.Then we reveal the development trends of the indicator systems of university evaluation on the basis of their common features.which is the combination of unity and diversity.output indicators as the leading factor.the combination of the absolute and relative indicators.the reasonable distribution of indicator weights of teaching and research,the match of qualitative indicators and quantitative indicator.the addition of internationalization indiacators.the group ranking etc.Finally,we put forward some suggestions for the high level university construction in Cluna.Universities and colleges should make clear their positions and determine the development strategies;Incresase the funds investment and pay more attention to the output benefiu;Find a balance between scale and charater;Hard power and soft power should be enhanced together;Broaden the international vision and participate in International competition.From the analysis,we can conclude that the university rankings has its advantages and disadvantages as a way of evaluating the universities.So we must treat the university ranking reasonably and perfect the indicator systems.This research choose more the subject.which are combed fully.Then we make systematic classification and dimensional analysis.From the above work, we provide a macroscopic concepts and framework for people.who want to learn about the university ranking indicator systems.
