Extracurricular reading is an important part of Chinese teaching in primary schools,and it is a supplement and extension of reading in class.Extracurricular reading plays a vital role in the improvement of language literacy.Primary school stage is the Enlightenment period of carrying out extracurricular reading.Teachers should shoulder the task of stimulating pupil Reading interest,making them master scientific reading methods and cultivating good reading habits,and ultimately improving the overall reading ability.Based on the sample of the primary school in rural areas of Changchun City,this paper summarizes the main problems existing in the extracurricular reading of rural primary school in the rural areas.In the critical reading learning stage,the training of Student ability is insufficient;they have insufficient reading experience and knowledge;they have insufficient effective reading time and poor reading environment;they lack scientific guidance in Chinese extracurricular reading;and their teachers are weak.Through the analysis of existing problems,we found out the reasons for their occurrence:Schools pay insufficient attention to student extracurricular activities reading;some teachers have outdated reading concepts and lack of correct value judgment on extracurricular reading;parents have biased understanding of extracurricular reading,which makes it difficult to provide effective support for students’ extracurricular reading;the impact of new media such as network television leads to student poverty consciousness of conscious reading.Finally,according to the causes of the problems,this paper puts forward effective strategies to optimize Chinese extracurricular reading in rural primary schools.Integrate resources of all parties,provide reading conditions,establish reading concepts;create a strong reading environment,stimulate reading interest;recommend excellent reading materials,guide reading methods;ensure reading time,pay attention to reading effectiveness;cultivate students’ good reading habits,and formulate scientific reading plans;Teachers optimize reading teaching and use new media to guide students to read.Finally,the paper puts forward the research conclusions,hoping to provide some valuable reference for the first-line rural primary school language teachers to carry out extracurricular reading practice.
