At present,the development of various regions in China is uneven,and the gap between the rich and the poor is large.With the expansion of university enrollment,the number of poor students in Colleges and universities are increasing,the status of poor students to participate in physical exercise and the differences between students and non-poor,has important significance to improve the work of college sports,but also conducive to them to develop healthier lifestyle and exercise habits,promote their healthy physical and mental development.So,this paper uses the methods of literature,questionnaire and mathematical statistics to investigate the current situation of sports participation between poor and non-poverty-stricken students in private universities in Xiamen.(1)impoverished students and non-poor students all agree on the basic functions of sports,but they haven't seen sports from a cultural perspective yet.Their understanding is still very shallow,which will become an internal driving force for them to participate in sports activities.(2)most of the poor students have a positive attitude towards sports.But compared with the non-poor students,the poor students who do not like sports account for a large proportion and have less interest in sports.(3)the main motivation of poor students and non-poor students to participate in sports is physical fitness,while the secondary motivation of poor students is to meet the requirements of examination.This shows that some physical exercise compulsory measures are effective for poor students.(4)poor students'participation in sports is not very consistent with the items they are most interested in.They are more interested in swimming,tennis and other projects,but they actually do not often participate in sports activities.Because such sports need more sports resource base,or need more consumption.(5)the majority of poor students will choose to participate in physical exercise in the afternoon;in the duration of physical exercise,each time in proportion to the number of poor students and non-similar overall strength exercise seems high,poor students participate in sports activities to students than lower frequency of poverty,because they live on the pressure no,a lot of time and energy to love sports.(6)poor students'awareness of sports consumption relative to non-poor students is lower,because the economic ability of poor students is limited.Whether they are poor or non-poverty-stricken students,the key points of their sports consumption are collective sports,sports clothing,sports equipment,sports appreciation and sports nutrition.(7)the poor students think that the sports facilities in the school cannot meet the needs of the students' sports.Not poor students are a little better.It shows that the poor students are more dependent on the physical resources in the school.Conclusion:in the face of life stress,the"optimistic and joyful"experience of the poor students' participation in sports is not as strong as that of the non-poor students,and the negative elements in cognition are more.In order to get rewards and honors,the poor students are more aware of the sports standards and examinations.Due to the economic pressure,and in sports exercise time and frequency of poor students,consumer awareness and consumption ability and non-poor students also have certain differences,exercise dependence on school public resources more,want to enjoy more"free"resources.In front of these problems,this paper puts forward some suggestions:strengthen the sports publicity,change the poor students sports attitude;strengthen the teaching of physical education,cultivate the consciousness training of the poor students;emphasizing physical education,improve the impoverished social relations;to strengthen the construction of sports facilities,to create a good training environment;to carry out more rich and colorful extracurricular sports activity.
