The sense of school belonging refers to a kind of feeling that students are willing to integrate into the school on the basis of identifying with their school. It is an important factor that affects students’ academic performance and mental health level.Xinjiang junior middle school class is an innovative mode of basic education in Xinjiang, aiming at benefiting the children of farmers and herdsmen families in remote areas,in order to speed up the narrowing of the gap between rural and urban education. It has been proved that the junior middle school students are facing many problems in school, among which anxiety, depression and other problems are more prominent. One of the root causes is that students have a low sense of belonging to their own school.Based on the review of previous studies,it can be seen that the sense of school belonging is affected by both individual factors and environmental factors.Accordingly, this study incorporates two variables, namely, resilience and social support,in order to explore the mechanism of individual and environmental factors on school belonging, and ultimately provide some reference for cultivating and improving the sense of school belonging of junior middle school students.Through cluster sampling of students in S Middle School,400 subjects were selected and tested with the Young People’s Psychological Elasticity Scale,Social Support Scale and School Attribution Scale.349 valid questionnaires were obtained with an effective recovery rate of 87.25%.The collected data were analyzed by SPSS25.0,Process plug-in and Amos 24.0 software. The results are as follows:In this study,400 questionnaires were distributed by cluster sampling, and 349 valid questionnaires were obtained by eliminating 51 invalid questionnaires. The effective recovery rate was 87.25%.On the basis of explaining the related theories of resilience, social support and sense of belonging, this paper explores whether there are differences between genders and grades, and further uses relevant statistical methods to draw the relationship among resilience, social support and sense of belonging of junior middle school students. The results show that:1.There is no significant difference in students’ resilience in gender and grade dimensions.2.There are significant differences in scores of subjective support factors and total scores of social support between boys and girls. There are significant differences in scores of objective support factors, support utilization factors and total scores of social support among students of different grades.3.There are significant differences in the scores of school integration factors and the total scores of school belonging between boys and girls;there are significant differences in the scores of school environment factors and the total scores of school belonging among students of different grades.4.There are two positive correlations among resilience, social support and sense of belonging.5.Social support is a mediating variable between resilience and sense of belonging. That is to say, resilience can directly affect school sense of belonging, and it can also indirectly affect school sense of belonging through social support.Based on the results, the researcher suggests that counseling lectures, frustration education and other ways should be adopted to cultivate students’ psychological resilience. At the same time,a multi-level social support system including government, society, schools, parents and peers should be constructed to cultivate and enhance the sense of school belonging of junior students in order to lay a solid psychological foundation for the implementation of school education.
