The cultivation of mathematics reading ability is an important part of mathematics teaching,and it is also the basic ability that senior students in rural primary schools must cultivate in learning mathematics.By cultivating the reading ability of senior students in rural primary schools,they can extract mathematical information more effectively,enhance their understanding of mathematical materials,and effectively solve mathematical problems.At the same time,the cultivation of mathematics reading ability expands the scope of students’ mathematics reading,helps students realize the value of mathematics,and strengthens the motivation of learning mathematics.How to cultivate senior students’ mathematics reading ability in rural primary schools is related to the quality of teaching and the cultivation of students’ mathematics literacy.Therefore,this paper studies the current situation of the cultivation of mathematics reading ability of senior students in rural primary schools.Firstly,the literature method is used to sort out the literature related to senior grade and mathematics reading ability in primary school,and to define the concept.Then the questionnaire survey method was used to investigate the status quo and problems of the senior mathematics teachers in rural elementary schools in cultivating their mathematics reading ability.Through investigation,it is found that there are some problems in training students’ mathematical reading ability in rural mathematics teachers,such as insufficient guidance of mathematical reading quantity,insufficient guidance of mathematical reading methods,insufficient teaching of mathematical reading information processing strategies and insufficient education of mathematical reading regulation.Secondly,on the basis of the existing problems in the cultivation of rural senior pupils’ mathematical reading ability,this paper constructs teaching strategies aiming at the cultivation of mathematical reading ability.These strategies include how to implement mathematical reading ability in new teaching,exercise explanation and extracurricular reading.Then,in order to verify the effectiveness of the strategy proposed in this paper,we try to verify it by setting up experiments.The experiment is divided into two groups.One group of sixth grade students mainly teaches conventional mathematics,the other group as the experimental group teaches mathematics reading ability.Through a three-month experiment,this paper makes a comparative analysis from the aspects of pupils’ mathematics achievement,mathematics reading ability and students’ mathematics emotion.The experiment found that the training of mathematics reading ability can effectively improve pupils’ mathematics achievement,mathematics reading ability and enrich students’ mathematics emotion.Finally,combined with the experimental results and teaching experience,this paper further puts forward some suggestions to implement the mathematical reading ability of rural senior pupils.Suggestions include the combination of mathematics reading ability training and classroom teaching;the combination of mathematics reading ability training and thinking training;the combination of mathematics reading ability training and methodological skills;and the emphasis on metacognitive regulation of mathematics reading.Through the implementation of these strategies,the mathematics reading ability of senior students in rural primary schools can be effectively cultivated,and the comprehensive quality of students can be improved.
