| Reading is an important way for humans to understand the world and access to knowledge. It is also an important factor in learning ability. After entering the twenty-first Century, the society becomes more and more informational and mathematical. If people want to get more information, they must have a comprehensive reading ability, including mathematical reading ability. People who can not learn are the new century illiterates.Therefore, school education can not only teach students the basics,but also to develop students’reading skills, which can help someone learn to self-learning and benefits forever. In order to learn how to learn by oneself, people should learn to read first. Only master the reading skills, can they obtain more accurate knowledge in a short time.First of all, this paper reviews the relevant research on mathematical reading, combing the mathematical reading, mathematical reading ability and other related concepts, and summarizes the characteristics of mathematics reading. Secondly, mathematics reading is divided into seven dimensions, such as reading frequency,reading attitude, reading contents, reading methods and strategies,reading environment, self-monitoring in reading and after-class reading.According to this seven dimensions,the thesis designed the questionnaire surveys, which were used to investigate the current situation of the mathematics reading of senior high school students in ethnic minority areas. And now the thesis can draw the following conclusions. (1) the students generally do not develop the habits of previewing before class and reviewing after class. (2) students do not recognize the importance of mathematics reading,so most of them abandon the teaching materials and pay more attention to the exercises; (3)students pay no attention to the understanding of mathematical concepts, theorems, formulas; (4) students are not good at taking notes in class; (5) students do not monitor their mathematics reading process on purpose; (6) students read few other math textbooks except reading mathematics books; (7) there are different gender and grade differences between arts and science. Finally, according to the survey results and the author’s own teaching experience,we put forward the training strategies and methods of mathematical reading ability of students in ethnic minority areas. The thesis are drawn in three main aspects:First, to stimulate students’ mathematics reading motivation and cultivate their interests in reading mathematics; Secondly,to strengthen the ability of mathematical language transformation by special trainings; Thirdly, to guide students to master scientific and effective mathematical reading methods. |
