Research On The Development Dilemma Of Social Work Education In Higher Vocational Colleges

At present,although Social Work major is available at many higher vocational colleges in China,its development is not so promising,which is mainly because higher vocational colleges generally lack the conditions and experience of carrying out education for Social Work majors.Meanwhile,Social Work has been developing for a relatively short time in China without forming a comprehensive and mature educational theory system for Social Work major.In this paper,Jiangxi Y Vocational College is chosen as the research object to reveal the development of education for Social Work majors through questionnaire method and in-depth interview,etc.Based on this,through the analysis of questionnaire data and interview result,problems in the education for Social Work majors at Jiangxi Y Vocational College and the causes are sought.Finally,based on the previous analysis,countermeasures and suggestions to solve the dilemma faced for education for Social Work majors at Jiangxi Y Vocational College are proposed.Through the investigation and analysis in this paper,it is found that problems in the education for Social Work majors at Jiangxi Y Vocational College mainly include:teachers are not so professional,there is a lack of localized textbooks,emphasis is placed on theories while practice is neglected,and the education system is imperfect and not professional,etc.Combined with the current education at higher vocational colleges in China and the reality of Jiangxi Y Vocational College,the author believes that education for Social Work should be improved from the several following aspects:first,determine the ternary role of teachers and constantly improve the professionalism of teachers;second,establish a research group and focus on developing localized textbooks;third,adopt the school-enterprise cooperative talent mode to make students gain more chances for practice;finally,improve the education system for Social Work majors at Jiangxi Y Vocational College to make students receive more comprehensive education.
