The Research Of Influence On Family Background Of Elementary School Students In Relation To The Acadamic Achievement Of The UOI Curriculum

The first and most important environment for children is family which has great impact on children's learning and achievement.According to foreign scholar's research,family has more influence on children than school and community.And the economic status of family has more impact on children's learning achievement than school;The income and education of parents have significant positive influence on score of children.With the development of society,many private school have built and there have been more and more international lesson.Family factors maybe have impact on the children who have these lessons.But how does this happen? It is still not clear.The article is on this research.I want to use Unit of Inquiry(UOI)in Primary Year Programme(PYP)ofInternational Baccalaureate(IB)lessons to do the analysis of the family factors' impact on children's learning.According to UOI theory and teaching evaluation,I use knowledge,concept,skill,attitude and action to evaluate the 126 students who are third to five grade now in S school in Shanghai and the effective data is 124 copies in family background.After I manually collect the data,I use STATA to do the correlation research by using ordinary least squares(OLS)method to get the valuable outcome to direct the daily teaching work.The empirical results are:(1)Outschool lessons are important to the study of the students,especially the main lessons;(2)Parents' work play in important role.For example,if the father works in the government,it will harm the study of their kids,especially in knowledge,concept and action.And if the father is doctor,it will also harm the study and growing.The reason may be the busy work and great pressure.And if the mother is housewife,it will not have much effect on study.(3)The hobby is also helpful,like sports on knowledge and concept.(4)The mind of kids is important.If he wants to be boss,the thought may harm the five outcome,and if he wants to be a teacher or famouscollege student,it will have good effect.These results can direct the daily teaching and parents.
