Research On The Influence Of Intelligent Manufacturing On Employment Of China's Manufacturing Labor Force

As an important component of the national economy,manufacturing industry has long played a positive role in increasing jobs and improving the employment structure.In 2016,the employment population of the urban manufacturing industry in China was 48.938 million,which accounted for 27%of the total employment.The number of R&D personnel in manufacturing enterprises above designated size reached 2,593,300,accounting for 96%of the R&D personnel of industrial enterprises above designated size in the country.China's intelligent manufacturing is developing rapidly,intelligent devices represented by robots are widely used in the sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry.Intelligent devices have strong substitution effects on low-skilled laborers,while create employment creation effects on high-skilled labors,and motivate the workforce from the low end of the value chain moves to the high end of added value on the smile curve.Meanwhile,intelligent manufacturing promotes the vigorous development of service manufacturing and enhances the ability of the manufacturing industry to expand the employment of service-oriented labor.In addition,China's manufacturing industry is also negatively affected by foreign intelligent manufacturing.The "backflow" of the industry has caused a large number of coastal foundry enterprises to go bankrupt and the workers are unemployed.This thesis makes use of the extended Jordi theoretical model to conduct empirical research.The results show that the current employment creation effect of smart manufacturing in China is greater than the employment substitution effect.Smart manufacturing is conducive to the employment growth of high-skilled labor and the employment structure.
