With the rapid development of globalization and knowledge economy, talents have increasingly become the object of competition among countries and regions, and the flow of international talents has increased significantly.China is undergoing an economic transformation, and the concentration of innovative talents is crucial to the development of innovative economy. In order to give full play to the important role of overseas talents and reduce brain drain,China has implemented a series of policies on the introduction of overseas talents.According to the statistical data, the spatial distribution of talent is highly unbalanced,As is known to all that city's ability to attract and nurture talents is the symbol of its core competitiveness, therefore how cities to introduce talents become the common concerns of society and academic circles. In the 1950s,the urban amenity theory emerging in western developed cities provided a new perspective for the city to enhance its talent attraction and urban development.Urban amenity means comfort living condition. With the developement of knowledge economy, the core of urban amenity theory lies in promoting the agglomeration of innovative talents and industries by creating a comfortable environment which talents preferred. In the context of China's innovation and knowledge-based industry transformation,it is necessary to carry out empirical research on the locational selection mechanism of talent flow and its relationship with urban amenity. Therefore, this paper targeted "overseas high-level young talents" as the research object to explore the influence mechanism of urban amenity on the spatial preference of talent flow Firstly, based on the relevant theoretical connotation and empirical research, the influence mechanism of talent flow was constructed, and the urban amentiy evaluation index system oriented to the needs of scientific talents was established, and the urban amenity level of China was comprehensively evaluated. The curriculum vitae analysis method was used to construct overseas skilled young talents database, and the curriculum vitae characteristics, and spatial distribution of scientific talents were analyzed.Based on the perspective of urban amenity,a multiple regression model was constructed to explore the influencing factors of the flow of young talents in China and its relationship with urban amenity from the perspectives of city, unit and individual dimensions.Meanwhile,a questionnaire survey was conducted to provide support and supplement for the regression results. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)the evaluation system of city amenity includes climate, environment, education, culture, scientific research atmosphere and other seven indicators, using comprehensive index evaluation method to calculate 52 cities'amenity, the spatial distribution of urban amenity is significan.(2)the curriculum vitae analysis method was used to construct the curriculum vitae database of 3,530 scientific talents in China. The spatial distribution of scientific talents was unbalanced, with the effect of big cities and the effect of high-level units.Talents were mostly concentrated in the three major urban agglomerations and the Yangtze river economic belt.(3)the results of multiple regression prove that there is a significant correlation between urban amenity and the flow of scientific research talents.Among them, the key factors affecting the flow of scientific talents were the whole society's investment in scientific research, the number of international schools, the number of inbound tourists, the green coverage rate of built-up areas and the number of college students per 100,000 people.Unit level is an important decision that affects the flow of scientific talents. The factor of Alma mater has a significant influence on the flow of scientific talents, and hometown has a positive influence on the location selection of the flow of scientific talents.(4)according to the questionnaire, the key factors influencing the flow of young talents are scientific research atmosphere, professional discipline accumulation, talent introduction policy and urban amenity.Through case analysis,non-economic factors such as family of origin, spouse, academic network and tutor resources also play a key role in the process of talent flow.Based on the above conclusions, this paper provides enlightenment on how cities attract talents and promote sustainable and innovative development of cities by improving their own amenity.
