School bullying is a common phenomenon among primary school students,which will bring negative effects on individual development.In this study,a questionnaire survey was conducted to study 557 students in the fourth to sixth grades of three primary school in Sichuan Province.The bullying questionnaire,the school climate questionnaire,and the self-esteem scale were used to examine the relationship among students' perception of the school climate,self-esteem and bully behavior.It aims to provide theoretical basis for reducing school bullying among primary school students.The results showed that:1.In primary schools,bullying are quite common,and there are significant gender and origin differences in bullying behavior.Boys are generally higher than girls,and urban students are generally higher than rural students;There were significant differences in school climate perception between different grades and different places of origin.The fifth and sixth grades are more positive about the school climate than the fourth grade.The rural students are more positive about the school climate than the urban students;the self-esteem level is also significantly different in different grades and different places of origin.The fifth and sixth grades have higher self-esteem than the fourth grade,and the rural students have higher self-esteem than the urban students.2.Bullying behavior of primary school students is significantly negatively correlated with the perception of school climate,that is,the more negative the perception of school climate is,the higher the involvement degree of students in school bullying is,and the perception of school climate can significantly negatively predict school bullying.3.Bullying behavior of primary school students is significantly negatively correlated with self-esteem level,that is,the lower the self-esteem level,the higher the involvement degree of students in school bullying,and self-esteem can significantly negatively predict school bullying.4.There is a significant positive correlation between pupils' perception of school climate and their self-esteem level,that is,the more positive students' perception of school climate is,the higher their self-esteem level will be.School climate perception can significantly positively predict self-esteem level.5.The perception of school climate directly influences self-esteem and bullying behaviors.Meanwhile,school climate influences bullying behaviors through the path of self-esteem.
