| School bullying is a common and special traumatic event, which will have a great impact on the physical and mental health of individuals.Studies have shown that students who have experienced or are experiencing bullying experience a range of negative psychological reactions, the most typical of which is post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD).These typical negative psychological reactions will then have a certain impact on their mental health. And once a traumatic event occurs,it usually transforms the individual’s psychological response through the interaction of external and internal causes. Therefore,it is the focus of this study to explore the influence mechanism of school bullying on PTSD in adolescents from the perspectives of internal and external causes.According to the hypothesis of broken world theory(Janoff-Bulman,2010),susceptibility model of trauma(Abramson,Seligman,& Teasdale,1978)and other theoretical hypotheses,we speculated that self-esteem and peer relationship might be important mediators between school bullying and PTSD.Therefore, based on previous theories and studies, this paper aims to explore the relationship among school bullying,PTSD,peer relationship and self-esteem.By discussing the influence mechanism of school bullying, this paper provides empirical evidence for the mental health counseling of teenagers who have experienced school bullying. In this study,424 students in Hanbin District,Ankang city,Shanxi province were investigated by questionnaire analysis, including school bullying questionnaire,self-esteem scale, peer relationship scale and post-traumatic stress disorder scale.Research results:(1)There is a significant positive correlation between school bullying and post-traumatic stress disorder;(2)Self-esteem plays a mediating role in school bullying and post-traumatic stress disorder;Peer relationship plays a mediating role in school bullying and post-traumatic stress disorder.Self-esteem and peer relationships are mediators in school bullying and post-traumatic stress disorder.(3)There is no gender or grade difference between school bullying,post-traumatic stress disorder,self-esteem and peer relationship. Therefore, junior high school teachers can try to conduct targeted intervention on school bullying of junior high school students from two aspects of self-esteem and peer relationship,so as to alleviate the degree of PTSD of students and improve the mental health of junior high school students. |
