Education is the foundation of the country,and the teachers are the base of the teaching.Nowadays,with the increasing emphasis on the quality of education and teaching,teachers are expected to have higher expectations and requirements.Rural middle school teachers are a large group of teachers and the mainstay of rural compulsory education.And their professional quality is directly related to the overall quality of rural education.Teacher's professional knowledge is the core element of teacher's professional quality and the basis of teacher's professional development.Therefore,Teachers' professional knowledge plays an important role in improving the professional quality of rural middle school teachers and promoting their professional development.Under the background of the international teacher professionalization and the education reform in China,It is very meaningful to research the current situation of rural middle school teachers' professional knowledge.The questionnaire in this research is based on the "professional knowledge" in the Middle School Teachers' Professional Standards(Trial).And then investigated the professional knowledge current situation of 321 rural middle school teachers in seven cities of Liaoning province,and interviewed 25 rural middle school teachers and 14 middle school students.Through questionnaires and interviews,it is found that there are mainly five problems in the professional knowledge of rural middle school teachers:the system of professional knowledge is incomplete;learning professional knowledge is purely guided by students' examination results;lack of educational knowledge and general knowledge;the novice teachers lack the subject teaching knowledge seriously;the level of professional knowledge of teachers in different disciplines is not balanced.In view of the above problems,According to relevant theories,the main reasons forthe problems are as follows:there are cognitive deviations of professional knowledge and internal learning motivations is insufficient;the teacher evaluation system is not scientific and professional knowledge learning channels are not smooth;neglect the professional growth of novice teachers and lack of attention to minor teachers;post-service training neglects teachers' subjectivity and the growth path of professional knowledge is unclear.the wages of rural teachers are on the low level and the loss of teachers is serious.Finally,The research puts forward countermeasures and suggestions from three aspects: teachers themselves,schools,the state and relevant education departments.In order to improve the rural middle school teachers' professional knowledge level,to promote the professional development of rural middle school teachers,improve the overall quality of rural junior middle school teachers and promote the balanced development of education in China.
