With the further development of basic education reform in our country,the teacher has been paid more and more attention by the society.As the main executor of education,teachers’ professional development has become an important factor that affect the development of education.In the process of teachers’ professional development,teachers’ professional competence has become the indispensable part.The ability of teacher’s professional development needs the teacher’s own knowledge accumulation,what’s more important is the accumulation of experience in practice.High school students are at a turning point in life;their knowledge reserve and mental growth are the current situation that high schoolteachers have to face.This requires high school teachers constantly improve their professional competence to help students through high school smoothly.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the current situation of high school teachers’ professional competence.In order to investigate the current situation of high school teachers’ professional competence,the research is based on the “professional competence” of the Middle School Teachers’ Professional Standards(Trial)that introduced in February 2012,compile the questionnaire.Through questionnaire,this research finds five problems in the current situation of high school teachers’ professional competence.Problems include the design of teaching goal lack of scientific,rigid teaching methods,lack of psychological skills in management activities,single teaching evaluation and poor communication with students.In view of the above problems,combined with the theory of effective teaching and teachers’ professional development stage theory,the researcher analyzes the reasons through the interview between teachers and students.Reasons includes teachers’ vague understanding of teaching objectives,the concept of traditional teaching method is deeply rooted,the inadequate of teachers’ psychological skills training,teachers’ teaching evaluation concept is obsolete and teachers’ roleorientation is single.Finally,based on the related theories and the existing problems,the research puts forward some reasonable suggestions.It includes clarify relevant concepts,scientific design teaching goal;flexible use of teaching methods,strengthen the stratification of teacher training;strengthen psychological skills training,seize the key period of development;pay attention to the use of evaluation language,comprehensive evaluation of many perspectives;create communication channels,improve teachers’ communication ability.This research hopes the reasonable suggestions can help the promotion of high school teachers’ professional competence.
