Reading is one of the important ways for human beings to acquire knowledge.The 2011 edition of Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education clearly points out that it reflects the ability of collecting and processing information,and also reflects the ability of thinking and aesthetic appreciation.Therefore,the teaching goal of"cultivating students,independent reading ability" is formulated,which requires students to master various reading methods and total reading amount in the nine-year compulsory education stage.No less than 4 million words and no less than 2.6 million words in extracurricular reading in junior high school.Under the guidance of the Chinese curriculum standard,China has aehieved remarkable results.However,with the proposal of "core literacy of Chinese subject",China's education reform has entered a new stage.As an important part of Chinese teaching,we have to re-exarnine extracurricular reading teaching.Changchun 108 Middle School has a high-quality team of teachers,more than 4000 students,attaching great importance to extracurricular reading teaching.The school has made clear requirements for students' extracurricular reading.It not only adopts various teaching methods,but also gives corresponaing guidance to students,it has achieved remarkable results,but also has some problems.By using the methods of questionnaires,interviews,data analysis and case analysis,this paper investigates and studies the extracurricular reading of Chinese in 108 middle schools in Changchun,with a view to understanding the overall situation of extracurricular reading in the middle schools of Changchun,and then to explore effective reform paths.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the study,the current research situation,the scope and methods of the study,and defines the main concepts.The second chapter mainly introduces the requirements of Chinese curriculum standards for junior middle school students' extracurricular reading.Chapter three is a survey of the current situation of Chinese extracurricular reading in 108 middle schools in Changchun.The first is the basic situation of the respondents,that is,the basic situation of schools,teachers and students.Secondly,the current situation of extracurricular reading teaching,including Chinese classics,Chinese and foreign classics,popular science fiction,poetry and prose,etc.The teaching methods adopted include story narration,video viewing,material exchange,etc.Finally,it introduces the school's extracurricular reading concept,extracurricular guidance and evaluation,extracurricular learning status,and family extracurricular reading concept.The fourth chapter is about its achievements and shortcomings.In terms of effectiveness,108 middle schools have abundant extracurricular reading activities,which cultivate students' good extracurricular reading habits and strong interest in reading,adopt a comprehensive and diverse teaching approach,and enrich and diversify the content of reading.The existing problems are reflected in the low utilization rate of libraries and the lack of a perfect evaluation system for extracurricular reading.The fifth chapter is the suggestion of extracurricular reading in Changchun 108 Middle School.It is mainly to strengthen the rational use of libraries and establish a perfect evaluation system of extracurricular reading.It is hoped that this study will play an active role in the extracurricular reading and Chinese teaching in 108 middle schools.
