The Research Of The Application Characteristics Of The Give And Go Strategy In The Quarterfinal Of FIBA Euro Basket

This article takes the Give and Go strategy in the quarterfinal of FIBA EuroBasket as the study target.Firstly,the theory will be elaborated,which means to study the application characteristics of Give and Go based on introducing the its theory and the classifications.It will include six sections,namely effect characteristics,type characteristics,timing characteristics,area characteristics,process characteristics,and position participation characteristics.Based on the conclusion combined by the objective analysis of the six sections and the real competition,theoretical basis and several valuable information and suggestions will be introduced in order to further develop the Give and Go strategy in our country so that to further perfect the attacking tactics system of our national athletic basketball.This article mainly uses the methodologies including literature review,expert interview,questionnaire,and video observation.The research results are as follow:(1)Thel Give and Go strategy effect of this quarterfinal of FIBA EuroBasket has a higher success rate.The distribution trend of the Give and Go effect characteristics was basically the same in all countries.Direct score was the most important effect of the the Give and Go strategy and it could easily lead to foul defence rather than foul attack.(2)The attack point of the Give and Go in this quarterfinal of FIBA EuroBasket was mainly positional attack while facing the defense point that were mainly one-one-one defense.(3)The most frequently used Give and Go strategy type in this competition was “P1-C2” and the success rate of it was quit high,followed by“P1-P2-P3” with the highest success rate.“P1-C1-P2” type was less used in this competition with relatively low success rate.(4)The Give and Go application area analysis: the Give and Go with highest occurrence rate and success rate was the places out of the restricted area.When players used the Give and Go strategy,empty the restricted area was the requirement of the strategy to increase the success rate.(5)Give and Go strategy application process analysis: a、 in the process of the Give and Go,it was usually ended by shooting rather than other attack execution methods.b、 During the transition period of Give and Go,head pass,sidling cut,and forward catching were the most frequently used tactics with quit high success rate.d、 During the ending period,straight arm shooting was the most frequently used tactics,followed by slam dunks with highest success rate.The success rates of the five shooting styles were all high.(6)Analysis of the Give and Go strategy position: the most involved player in Give and Go was the full back,followed by the center and forward respectively.Regarding the success rate,there was no apparent difference among these three positions.The most used position combination was full back with center,followed by full back with forward and center with forward respectively.The last three types were the least.However,regarding the success rate,the full back with full back,center with forward,and forward with forward were quit high.Furthermore,the number of the center participation was relatively high,which occupied a certain percentage,after observing the number of participating the Give and Go strategy.
