Research On The Status Quo Of My Country's Small And Medium-sized Marathon Event Market

Today,marathon races are in full swing,and there are numerous large-scale marathon races all over China.However,with the rapid development of marathon events,many organizer are facing various problems and risks,such as difficulty in raising funds,recruiting athletes and so on.Through the collation and analysis of the market data of Marathon events in the past few years,this paper explores the supply-demand relationship,price elasticity and other aspects of the marathon market in China and seeks the relationship between the market capacity of Marathon events and the local economy and population.This paper also takes the JinTang Mountain half marathon as an example for analysis,aiming at providing theoretical support,clarifying market risks,and providing reasonable suggestions on the scale of marathon events,pricing strategies and development paths for the organizers of major marathon events,especially those of small and medium-sized events.By using the methods of literature,questionnaire,participatory observation,expert interview and mathematical statistics,this paper studies and analyses the marathon market in China and JinTang area of Chengdu.The conclusions are as follows: 1.The supply of Marathon events has exceeded the demand of runners,and gradually formed a buyer's market.Blindly setting up new events and expanding the scale of existing events will bring considerable risks to the main body of the events.2.In the past few years,the increasing demand for marathon events mainly depends on the increasing frequency of runners participating in the marathon.The absolute population of runners participating in the marathon races is still small.3.The scale and quantity of Marathon events in different regions are significantly related to the local economy and population size.The supply and demand of Marathon events in specific regions can be reasonably predicted by economic and demographic data of a specific area.4.Marathon registration fees are price-flexible,and the quality of race bag,race route environment and service quality have a greater impact on the price.
