In 2017,western Australia's Ministry of education introduced a second language curriculum reform,requiring all primary schools to start a language curriculum by 2018,focusing on six major languages,including Chinese.As more and more primary schools in western Australia offer Chinese as a second language course,Chinese teaching has a good momentum of development.However,the composition of primary school students in western Australia is complex.Even there are many mixed classes,leading to great differences in the level of learning of students in the class,which has brought a lot of obstacles to the development of Chinese teaching in western Australia.In order to reach the educational characteristics of western Australia primary school,implement the core concept of western Australia language curriculum,and optimize the learning effect of students at different levels,the author applies the stratified teaching method to the teaching of Chinese in Dalyellup Primary School in western Australia.The thesis is five parts: the first part describes the aim and importance of the topic,as well as the research status and theoretical basis of hierarchical teaching method at home and abroad,to determine the research ideas and research methods of this thesis.The second part discusses the feasibility of applying hierarchical teaching method in Chinese teaching in western Australian primary schools from three aspects: exploring the educational characteristics of western Australian primary schools,investigating the situation of Chinese teaching and studying the western Australian Chinese curriculum concept.The third part describes the implementation process of stratified teaching in Dalyellup Primary School in western Australia in detail.According to the basic mode of stratified teaching,the concrete and practical stratified operation is carried out from the teaching objects,teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching methods,teachingevaluation and other aspects of the class.At last,a teaching case is presented.The fourth part examines the teaching effect of stratified teaching in Dalyellup Primary School,and gets the evaluation from the feedback of students and teachers.In the fifth part,the author analyzes the problems in the teaching of stratified Chinese in Dalyellup Primary School in western Australia,and makes some reflections on the development of stratified Chinese teaching in primary schools in western Australia.The author carried out a half-year stratified Chinese teaching in room 8 of Dalyellup Primary School in western Australia.Through the observation of the teaching process and the examination of the teaching effect,the author found that the students greatly deepened the understanding of Chinese learning,improved the level of Chinese and enhanced their interest in Chinese.In a word,Stratified teaching is a very worthy of promotion,suitable for western Australia primary Chinese teaching mode.
