In this era of globalization,science and technology have been changing lives.The dynamic changes have set new requirements for people’s scientific literacy.Improving people’s scientific literacy not only helps people to recognize,understand and use the knowledge of science and technology to improve the people’s lives,but also is the core competitiveness of a country in its social modernization development.Our country has been attaching great importance to the development of science and technology and the improvement of national scientific literacy,and at the same time strengthening scientific popularization in strategy implementation.The changes of media environment in the Internet era have enriched the contents and channels of the Internet science popularization.The combination of written language,images,media,AR,VR,and live streaming,etc.has made popular science present in a more vivid and intuitive manner.The Internet science popularization has become one of the main channels of communication.And adolescents are the target that needs to improve science literacy.Focusing on fostering scientific spirit,attitude and method of the students,the related science curricula in basic education play a main role in science popularization education,and scientific attitude is the key in Science teaching.Pupils’ curiosity and thirst for knowledge should be protected so as to stimulate their interest in learning through learning by doing and thinking by learning,as well as the method of cooperation and exploration,to forster the students’ scientific attitude and improve the scientific literacy.Under the background of the promotion of scientific strategy,the changes in media environment and the need for science popularization education,the author has read relevant literature and found that although the science popularization has made certain achievements,the overall scientific literacy needs to be improved,especially for those who are receiving basic education in low grades in elementary school.There also exist problems in Internet science popularization,including the mixed contents which are difficult for people to find what they need correctly,thus weakening Internet communicating effect.To solve the above problems,the author is trying to use blended learning models to promote science popularization among pupils,hoping to improve the effectiveness of Internet communication on one hand and promote science popularization in primary classroom on the other.In the first part of the paper,the development and current situation of science popularization were analyzed and science and its popularization were summarized.Taking the Internet as the media,the Internet science popularization shows the characteristics of diversified forms,promptness,interaction and abundant contents.Attention should be paid to organize activities in science popularization with the joint efforts of family,school and society,which is among the functions of science popularization education.In the second part,analysis was done for science popularization among pupils under blended learning models according to Lasswell’s “5W” mode;choosing and designing the resources that fit the object carrying out science popularization in blended learning models,finally measuring the effect through inspection of scientific attitude among pupils.The third part is experimental design in which research will be done mainly through action research method according to research contents.Before the experiment,the author interviewed the teachers of experimental school and knew the curricular information of Science,then designed the questionnaire under the instruction of the Science teacher and chose the experimental class.In the fourth part,the action cases Our Brain,A Harmonious Unity of Our Body and Safety Utilization of Electric Power are designed and experiments are conducted.The three cases focus on the theme of “human body”,which is progressive and students can discuss from the most direct experience of themselves.The cases involve experiments and discussions,etc.,thus the resources and cases in the Internet platform are combined.In the fifth part,the experiment effect was analyzed based on data collected through questionnaire,observation and interview.The students are curious about the outside world originally,however,due to stressful schoolwork,teachers’ and parents’ indifference to science popularization,and the old lesson formats and contents,etc.,it’s hard to arouse the enthusiasm of students.While on the contrary,it is important to explore and foster scientific study in elementary school stage.Under blended learning models,contents related to experiment cases are added to Science class and students are attracted in both form and contents.Students can experience the secrets of science in doing experiments,and then summarize and share what they have seen and thought.On the whole,Science under blended learning models has gained acceptance from both teachers and students.The class will help students to comprehend and master scientific knowledge,stimulate students’ interest in learning science and then foster their scientific attitude.Combining the contents of the Internet science popularization and the offline class can precisely spread the resources of the Internet science popularization to pupils so as to improve the efficacy of the Internet science popularization.In the science popularization,Science class for pupils plays an important role in fostering an active scientific attitude of the students.Fostering scientific literacy among pupils can lay a solid foundation for their further study and lifelong development while the Internet science popularization can give a full play to its effectiveness,which is the essential purpose for science popularization.Besides,applying blended learning models to the field of science popularization can make both the models and the field come into play.Science popularization in elementary school needs both the active participation of students and even the appreciation from teachers,schools,parents and the society.Efforts should be made to implement activities of science popularization,enhance multi-cooperation,create a pleasant atmosphere,carry out teaching design according to the cognitive features of students,and combine more favorable resources and effective models to promote science popularization.
