With the development and popularization of computer and network technology,twenty-first Century has become an information era.3S Technology(geographic information system GIS,remote sensing technology RS,global positioning system GPS)is an important part of information technology,and has been widely applied to all fields of society.The characteristic of3 S technology is to show geospatial objects and their relations from multiple angles.It reflects the most notable feature of geography.Therefore,applying 3S technology to middle school geography teaching is an important trend of basic education development.The new curriculum standard published by the Ministry of education in 2017 emphasizes the importance of the use of geographic information technology and the cultivation of students' ability to think in geographical space.The use of 3S technology to carry out the teaching of spatial characteristics of geographic information can effectively improve classroom efficiency,develop and cultivate students' spatial thinking ability.By using the method of literature comprehensive analysis and questionnaire,this paper investigates and analyzes the research trend and application status of 3S technology applied in middle school geography teaching,the main contents of the training of geospatial thinking ability,the current implementation status and existing problems,and carries out investigation,analysis and research.This study mainly clarifies the following aspects:(1)Comprehensive analysis of the existing literature,teaching standards,teaching models and characteristics,3S technology to cultivate high school students' geographical spatial thinking ability has a unique advantage.3S technology has a large amount of information and timeliness of data;its spatial analysis is powerful and helps students to learn geospatial analysis;its operability is also strong,it is conducive to training students' hands-on ability and creative ability;3S technology is flexible and can meet the needs of modern geography teaching.The use of 3S technology to cultivate geospatial thinking ability can be divided into the following four categories: geographical spatial positioning thinking ability,geographical spatial image thinking ability,geographical space comparison ability and comprehensive thinking ability of geographical space.(2)According to the questionnaire survey,the current situation of high school students' geographical spatial thinking ability is analyzed.Teachers think that the ability of spatial comprehensive analysis students is the most difficult to master,followed by spatial imagination.Teachers choose teaching methods and teaching tools to cultivate students' geographical space thinking as follows: the higher grade,the teaching methods and tools used by teachers all show a monotonous trend,from the urban middle school to the township middle school also shows the same trend.Analyzing the extent of teachers' understanding of the application status of 3S technology,teachers are most familiar with GPS and familiarity with RS is the lowest.Most of the teachers in geography class explain the contents of 3S technology,and only introduce their functions and applications.Although most teachers are willing to integrate 3S technology into the geography class,they fail to implement 3S technology or because the school infrastructure is not perfect.(3)According to the characteristics of 3S technology and the requirements of the training of geographical spatial thinking ability,the principles of selecting teaching contents applying 3S technology are summarized.First of all,the choice of teaching content should focus on the integration of 3S technology and geographical knowledge,and prevent the differentiation between 3S technology and geography curriculum.Secondly,the choice of geography teaching content must pay attention to the logical sequence of geographical knowledge and start teaching.At the same time,we should pay attention to the localization of teaching and use students' familiar geographical space to start teaching.In addition,we should pay attention to developing geography practice classroom.We should not only attach importance to students' learning of basic knowledge theory,but also emphasize the training of students' skills.(4)On the basis of the above analysis,put forward the teaching strategy of 3S technology in cultivating high school geography spatial thinking ability.Using 3S technology latitude and longitude positioning and mobile phone GPS positioning function to cultivate students' spatial positioning thinking ability,use 3S technology three-dimensional data visualization and virtual scene function to cultivate students' spatial image thinking ability,use hierarchical color function and remote sensing image function to cultivate students' Spatial Comparison thinking ability,and use layers to stack them.In addition,the GIS buffer analysis and path selection can be used to cultivate the students' comprehensive thinking ability in geographical space.
