The image of children is a comprehensive judgement about the children's realistic image and subjective anticipation.It is not only people's overall impression of the realistic image of children,but also reflects people's overall anticipation of the ideal image of children.By studying and shaping the image of children,people can answer the question that which kind of children should be cultivated.It's a concentrated expression of people's views on children and education in a period.Therefore,"the image of children" is always a core problem in education.And any education reforms should take the reflection and reshaping of "the image of children" as premise and the fundamental aim.In the forty years since China's reform and opening up,from pushing forward the quality-oriented education to promote the all-round development of students pointed in Decisions on the Basic Education and Development by State Department,to emphasis on students' independent development ability in core competences for Chinese students' development,the reform of basic education in our country keeps rethinking and reconstructing the image of children which possess independent spirit and can develop their personality.This study mainly focuses on three specific questions:First,what's the real image of children in current school life?Second,Whether the real image of children is in keeping with the aspiration of ideal child-image?Third,how to interpret the causes of this phenomenon and what is the development direction?Based on these purposes,this study chose a fourth-grade class of F primary school in Hefei as specific research object.In this study,we utilize observational method and multi-subject Interview method with the clue of video.The research process includes five phases:field observation and pilot study,formal video shooting and clipping,multi-subject interview which use video as clue,processing and analyzing of research material,and final paper writing.This thesis consists of five chapters.The first part is introduction,it mainly talks about the reason and significance of this research,overall research status about the image of children,and define some essential concepts such as "school life","children","the image of children".The second chapter is about research methods and process.It explains in detail how to choose the research subject,the application of field observation and multi-subject Interview method with the clue of video,video shooting and clipping,multi-subject interview which use video as clue,processing and analyzing of research materials.The third chapter is the mainbody of this paper.To be more specific,we choose five typical life situations in F school as research object:entering school at the gate morning reading,learning in class,flag-raising ceremony,and extracurricular activities.As far as the analysis of the image of children,the logic of expounding is describing life situations first,then analyzing the image of children presented therein.The analysis is proceeding not only by describe the videos,but also by analysis the interview materials of parents,school administers and teachers.Finally,we summarized the overall characters of the realistic image of children in F school life.On the basis of this,the fourth chapter continues to discuss from three aspects:real situation of school development,school management strategy,and the choices of teachers.From outside to inside and school administers to teachers,as well as the analysis both from objective factors and subjective choices,the article summarized the main causes of forming the realistic image of children.In the last part,the paper further expounds the essence leading to the image of children and how to improve that.Based on this,we draw the following conclusions:first,the image of children in school life at present is generally the disciplined image formed in the name of so-called protection.Some features are presented as follows:observing disciplines,peaking with one voice and marching in step,quiet and well behaved.The image of children formed under the guidance of rules is still dominant,which is far away from the ideal image of children with independent spirit and personalities that our country has always appealed for since 1980s.Second,the cause of forming the image of present children is related with characters of today's society.With the fast urbanization drive,more and more students from different places flow into urban schools,it reduces the space of children in school and make protectionism become a justification.Besides,some factors which from outside and inside of school,such as government's irrational decision and school administrators' value choices after weighing the advantages and disadvantages,and teachers' compromise in the conflict of ideal and reality,all of these factors combined to "kidnap the children" and make children are in compliance with rules.Third,if we want to change the current situation of children,make them be themselves,we are supposed to rebuild the education development system based on education practice and the understanding of children:all of government,school administrators and teachers should well perform their own roles.Further optimize the development of urban schools in fast urbanization process.Finally,rebuild the spirit of school rules from the understanding of children.
