A Study Of Undergraduates’ Employability Cultivation Of American Stanford University

In recent years,the employment situation of Chinese university students has become increasingly severe,causing all parties to attach attention to the employability of university students.Employability refers to the ability of an individual to meet the requirements of an employer while the individual is able to find a suitable job and to continue,improve,and replace the job under relative conditions.It consists of four aspects:general ability,subject knowledge and skills,basic job search ability and perception of the real society.It is characterized by moldability,transferability and sustainability.The outstanding performance of Stanford University in the QS and THE related investigation has attracted attention at home and abroad.On the basis of the literature method,comparative method and case method,the undergraduates’ employability cultivation of American Stanford University is studied.According to the composition of the employability and the four basic undergraduate education ’ s objections of Stanford University to master knowledge,develop abilities,build a sense of responsibility and develop adaptive learning,Stanford University is found to cultivate the employability of undergraduates by five aspects,including enriching the curriculum and project,building a high-level teachers group,strengthening employment guidance services,providing social service opportunities and improving the undergraduate education management.After summarizing and analyzing,the process to cultivate undergraduates’employability by Stanford University reflects five characteristics,which a re the orientation of education,the foundation of the curriculum and project,the protection of excellent teachers,the means of coordinated promotion and the requirement of meeting the need of the times.In view of the low satisfa ction of Chinese undergraduates in teaching work and student work in colleges and universities,it is considered that many colleges and universities still need to be improved.Therefore,based on the deep analysis of Stanford Unive rsity’s relevant research,the following suggestions are proposed for Chinese colleges and universities.First of all,a clear goal of cultivation must be established.Secondly,we should promote the improvement of curricula and te aching.Thirdly,we should strengthen the construction of teachers.Then,we s hould pay attention to the coordinated promotion of multi-party.Finally,we should improve the censorship based on the needs of the times.It aims to pro vide reference for colleges and universities to cultivate undergraduates’ emp loyability and promote the employment of undergraduates.
