The picture book which is the internationally recognized and best suited for young children to read in the 21st century.As a child's new material for teaching materials,it meets the outline objectives and has important implications for the development of early childhood.However,the teaching level of picture books in kindergartens is currently uneven,which caused the lack of educational value of picture books.In this paper,literature research and investigation method are used to study the problem of picture book teaching in kindergartens.The full text is divided into three parts except the introduction:The first part is an overview of the teaching theory of picture books.Based on the interpretation of the meanings of "picture book" and "picture book teaching",the basic elements of kindergarten picture book teaching are analyzed,including the teaching objectives,content,implementation and evaluation.Picture book teaching plays an important role in the five fields of kindergarten.It is not only conductive to cultivating children's healthy behavior habits and promoting the development of children's language skills,but also can enhance children's imagination and creativity,shape the development of children's good character and cultivate The development of children's aesthetic ability.The second part is the investigation of the recent situation of picture book teaching in kindergartens.First of all,it introduced the research design and implementation of the survey.Then,the specific investigation results were analyzed.The recent situation of picture books teaching was explained from three aspects:the basic situation of kindergarten and preschool teachers,the understanding of preschool teachers' teaching of picture books,and the implementation of kindergarten picture book teaching.Finally,combining the personal interview materials,the paper analyzes the main problems existing in kindergarten picture book teaching,and attributes the existing problems from kindergarten,teachers,and parents.The third part is the countermeasures to optimize kindergarten teaching.In view of the existing problems and their causes,it is suggested that the quality of picture book teaching be further improved in terms of creating a good picture book teaching environment,improving the "picture arts literacy" of preschool teachers and parents,and strengthening policy support and guidance.
