The rapid growth of China’s economy has made more people want to learn Mandarin,It makes a lot of Indonesian people interested in learning Mandarin,not only the Indo-Chinese people,but also the Indonesian local people are willing to learning Mandarin.With this impact,many schools begin for opening Mandarin Class as one of their school subject,not only Chinese school,but also Indonesian school.Mandarin teaching can only become a complete course in a senior high school level,because it is the basic skill basis for university students at this stage.Indo-Chinese and Indonesian local students basically have different cultural backgrounds,which makes them have different in opinions on Mandarin teaching.What are the differences between the Chinese textbooks for Indonesian students and Indo-chinese students?What are the distinctions between the Indonesian local students and the Indonesian Chinese students on the topic of Mandarin textbooks?Does the topic of Mandarin textbooks for Indonesian students meet the standards of Indonesia’s Ministry of Education?These questions allow the author to analyze the topic of textbooks used in Indonesian schools,and using questionnaires to investigate the topics of Chinese teaching that Indonesian high school students are really interested in and the related national vocabulary.This paper aims to select topics and related vocabulary suitable for Mandarin teaching in Indonesia from a country perspective through investigation and study to stimulate students’ interest in learning and improve teachers’ teaching efficiency.
