| With the increasing attention paid by the state to the training of master’s degree professionals,the demand for library and information professionals is increasing.The construction of the MLIS talent training system has increasingly highlighted its necessity and urgency.Although China has accumulated certain experience in the construction of the MLIS talent training system,there are still some problems.For example,it is not closely related to the actual needs of the society,it does not integrate enough disciplines and cannot meet the needs of the MLIS talents for social development.How to satisfy the society’s demand for MLIS talents and upgrade the quality of talent training is an issue that China urgently needs to solve in the development of MLIS.In contrast,professional degrees in the United States are set up earlier,and the professional degree education system has matured,especially in terms of the professional degree’s talent training system.Therefore,through the comparative study of the MLIS talent training system between China and the United States,we have learned about the advanced experience of the United States in MLIS talent training,analyzed the deficiencies in the construction of China’s MLIS talent training system,and promoted the construction of MLIS talent training system in China.It’s of important practical significance to promote reform and development of MLIS education in China.First,the paper selected 27 institutions,including the top ten American MLIS institutions provided by "US News and World Report",and the first batch of seventeen colleges that have been granted MLIS award rights and continuous enrollment in China,using the Internet survey method,Collected and sorted out the relevant information of the Chinese and American MLIS training programs,conducted comparative analysis of the training objectives,research directions,curriculum settings,training methods,practical teaching,and quality assessment agencies,and summarized the respective Features,similarities and differences of Chinese and American MLIS talent training systems:Summarized that the United States pays close attention to social needs,highlights talent training in specialized fields,and attaches importance to cross-discipline integration in the construction of the MLIS talent training system.These experiences have certain implications for China.Then,it analyzes the main problems and causes of the MLIS talent training system in China,and points out that there are still deficiencies in attention to the needs and expertise of MLIS talents,the adjustment of course content and curriculum modules,the construction of "Two-mentoring" and the integration of disciplines and the optimization of the systems and forms of practical teaching.Finally,aiming at these comparisons and analysis,the countermeasures and suggestions to optimize the MLIS talent training system are proposed.Including insisting on demand-oriented research direction,further integrating strategic requirements,focusing on application prospects and highlighting training professionals;adhering to concept-oriented optimization of curriculum settings,highlighting the comprehensive cultivation of knowledge and ability,establishing a"Post-group" curriculum system;implementing the "Two-mentoring",enriching the forms of education,promoting the integration of disciplines,and then build a more comprehensive way of diversification;starting from the two aspects of practical teaching management and practical teaching forms,further strengthening the scientific practice teaching,and constantly cultivate applied and innovative compound talents.These targeted countermeasures have certain enlightenment and reference significance for further improving the MLIS talent training system and improving the quality of MLIS talents training in China. |
