In order to explore the effect of the mental rotation game on the spatial and mathematics performance of 5-6 year-old children,the study chose 5-6 year-old children as the research object,and tried to improve the children's mental rotation ability through the method of playing Tetris game.In this study,40 children aged 5-6 years were selected by the method of simple random sampling,and randomly assigned to either experimental group or control group.Firstly,mental rotation task,block pattern test,and early mathematical ability test were used to investigate children's spatial ability and mathematical ability(pretest).Secondly,the intervention of mental rotation game was performed in the experimental group,and guessing game was conducted on the control group.Finally,the spatial and mathematical ability of children in experimental group and control group were tested respectively,and the overall training effect of mental rotation game on mental rotation task,block pattern test and early mathematical ability test were analyzed.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)In the task of mental rotation,there was significant difference between the pretest and the post-test score in the experimental group,and there was significant difference between the pretest and the post-test score in the control group;The post-test score on animal image stimulus of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group,while there was no significant difference in the post-test scores of the letter image stimulus.;there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the difference scores in pretest and post-test of animal image stimulus,but there was no significant difference in the difference scores in pretest and post-test of letter image stimulus.(2)In the block pattern test,there was significant difference between the experimental group,and there was significant difference between the pretest and the post-test score in the control group;The post-test score in the block pattern test of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group;there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the difference scores in pretest and post-test of the block pattern test.(3)In the early mathematical ability test,there was no significant difference between the pretest and the post-test scores in the control group,While there exists significant difference between the pretest and the post-test scores in the experimental group.According to the results of the study,several educational suggestions were made:First,focusing on the cultivation of children's mental rotation ability;Second,according to children's age characteristics to cultivate the ability of mental rotation;Third,using various ways to promote the development of children's mental rotation ability.
