| In order to explore the relationship between vocabulary, spatial ability, executive function and mathematical ability of children aged 4-6years,this study used coin tossing to select 98 children aged 4-6 from three kindergartens in Changsha,Hunan Province(52 people in the middle class,46 people in the large class). At the beginning of the semester, the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised-Chinese Edition,Express Vocabulary Test, and Wexler Preschooler Intelligence Scale(WPPSI)the Chinese version Wooden block patterns, mental rotation tasks, and Head-Toes-Knees-Shoulders tasks examine vocabulary, spatial abilities, and executive functions of children aged 4-6.At the end of the semester, the Early Mathematical Ability Test Scale(Test of Early Math Ability-III)was used to investigate the early mathematical abilities of children aged 4-6,and the conclusions were as follows:(1)There are significant age differences in the development of vocabulary, spatial abilities and executive functions of 4-6 years old children, and the gender differences are not obvious;the age differences and gender differences of 4-6 years old children's math abilities are not significant.(2)Receptive vocabulary, visual space, executive function of 4-5years old children are significantly positively related to mathematical ability;expressive vocabulary, visual space, mental rotation of 5-6 yearsold children are significantly positively related to mathematical ability.(3)4-5 years old children's executive function is more predictive of mathematical ability than spatial ability;5-6 years old children's visual space ability is more predictive of mathematical ability than executive function.Based on the results of this study, the researchers made several suggestions.First, attach importance to the cultivation of preschool children's vocabulary, spatial abilities and executive functions.Second, there are multiple ways to develop vocabulary, executive function, and spatial ability in preschool children.Third, guide preschool children to solve mathematical problems by using vocabulary, executive functions, and spatial abilities in specific situations. |
