The study of mathematical modeling teaching plays an important role in the process of mathematics education both at home and abroad,which has aroused the attention of many researchers.One of the contents of “Numbers and Algebras” in the second section“Formula and equation” is an important turning point in the student's learning from“arithmetic” to “algebra”,and it is also an exploration of the understanding from“quantity” to “relationship” for students.The ability to think has an important role.In the elementary school stage,the equation is a typical mathematical model.Using mathematics modeling as a vehicle,the “formula and equation” teaching design can demonstrate the value of modeling teaching.In the study,the following studies were conducted using literature analysis,interviews,case analysis,and text analysis:First of all,from the mathematics modeling teaching,primary school "formula and equation" teaching and other related literature collation and analysis,to understand the current research status and existing problems: mostly from the primary school mathematics to discuss mathematical modeling teaching,or model thinking The penetrating research,very few is from an example to discuss the teaching of modeling,and less attention is paid to the teaching design of “formula and equation” based on mathematical modeling.Secondly,it analyzes the existing problems theoretically,analyzes the necessity and feasibility of the research,defines related concepts,and explains the theoretical basis for supporting research.It also proposes the teaching of “formula and equation” in primary schools based on mathematical modeling.Principles: Create an effective problem situation principle,demonstrate the principles of the model construction process,penetrate the principles and methods of mathematics,highlight the principles of student-centered teaching,and develop the principle of non-intellectual factors for students.Then,from the contents and titles of the textbooks "formula and equation" of the three editions of the People's Education Press,Beijing Normal University Edition,andWestern Normal University Edition,we analyzed the common points of the teaching materials,specifically the teaching situation and teaching.An example analysis of objectives,teaching methods,and teaching processes;designing two cases of “using letters to represent numbers” and “using equations to solve problems and encountering problems” and conducting brief interviews with three experienced teachers to understand cases,principles,and design Advantages and disadvantages of the link.Finally,the conclusions and reflections are drawn: This research design can arouse teachers' attention to modeling teaching and provide reference assistance,extend the modeling to other mathematics content applications,and use the model-based teaching process skillfully by teachers.The link should break through this framework,be flexible,and truly integrate mathematics modeling.
