The fifth grade "formula and equation" is not only an important content of primary school mathematics,but also a key factor in the connection between primary school and junior high school mathematics learning,but the teaching and learning in practical teaching are not optimistic.The multivariate representation of mathematics learning object can highlight its multivariate attributes concretely and vividly and strengthen its complex side or desalinate its complex side,so that learners can make effective cognitive connection to the different representations of the mathematics learning object,so as to improve the students’ efficiency of learning mathematics and to improve the effect of mathematics learning.Therefore,this paper discusses the teaching strategies of “formula and equation” of the fifth grade of primary school from the perspective of multivariate representation.This researcher presents the previous studies about the mathematical multivariate representation and “formula and equation” in primary school through literature,summarizing previous studies about the cognitive function of mathematics multivariate representation,the mechanism of mathematics multivariate representation affecting mathematics cognition,the teaching effect of employing mathematics multivariate representation,the teaching content of “formula and equation” in elementary school,the teaching status of “formula and equation”,and the countermeasures,all of which lays strong theoretical foundation for the study.Through questionnaire,this article analyzes the teaching status of applying multivariate representation into “formula and equation” in the researcher’s internship school from five aspects,respectively students’ emotional attitudes towards learning mathematics and the “formula and equation”,students’ feedback on the teaching status of “formula and equation”,students’ awareness of using multivariate representation in solving relevant problems about “formula and the equation”,students’ direct transformation of multivariate representation and students’ overall ability of employing multivariate representation in solving problems about “formula and the equation”.On the basis of the results of the questionnaire and the interview between teachers and students,the findings indicate there are six kinds of problems exist when the multivariate representation is employed in the "the formula and the equation" of primary school.They are as followed:(1)students need to improve their motivation in learning“formula and equation”;(2)students’ use and application of mathematical multivariate representation are biased;(3)students’ physical representation is weak;(4)students do not understand how to draw or their drawing is not standardized;(5)students’ text expressions are not various;(6)students’ understanding of the symbol and operational ability is weak.According to the findings,this paper puts forward five solutions for the teaching of “formula and equation” based on the theory of multivariate representation,such as rich physical representation,improve image representation,enhance language representation,make symbol representation more precise,integrate various representations and so on. |
