In recent years, our country's birth control policy has been adjusted several times, and residents' fertility desires have generally been low.Even many scholars believe that our country's society has entered a "low fertility trap".This study selected one indicator of "fertility will"-"willing to have children" to explore the impact of family economics and housing conditions on residents' fertility desires.Through the statistical test and analysis of the Poisson regression model for the 2013 CGSS data, the study found that,on the whole, the family economic factors have a significant negative impact on the residents' desire for fertility,ie the individual's annual personal income and family years. The higher the income, the lower the number of children willing to give birth. At the same time, housing conditions have a significant positive impact on the residents' fertility desire, that is,when the residents'housing area is larger, the number of people they wish to have will increase. However, this effect is fluctuating within a certain range:if the individual's annual income is less than 17,190 yuan, their fertility will be significantly higher than that of individuals with an annual income of 17190-50,000 yuan;the family's annual income is below 57,481,their fertility desire is significantly higher than that of households whose annual income is between 57,480 and 100,000 yuan;if the housing area is more than 80 square meters, their fertility will be significantly higher than the housing area between 42-80 square meters. There are gender differences in the influence of family economics and housing conditions on the residents' fertility wishes.Although overall, individual annual income, annual household income, and existing housing area have a significant impact on residents, fertility desires, the analysis found that these three variables have a more pronounced effect on women's fertility intentions, and Although the fertility tends to show the same trend, the statistical results are not significant. In view of the danger that our country's current society is caught in the "low fertility trap",this article explores the impact of family economics and housing conditions on residents' fertility desires, and discovered the importance of economic income and the size of the housing area in influencing residents' fertility desires and even childbirth decisions, and calls on the state to issue relevant Family policies to protect and encourage the birth of residents.
