The phenomenon of "Chinese fever" continues to warm up around the world.Chinese learning groups tend to become younger and younger.Lots of Chinese textbooks for children are also published in succession.However,most of the textbooks prevalent on the market are universal,and it is hard to find textbooks truly suitable for the characteristics of Spanish children.Children in each country have independent cultural habits,thinking modes and learning characteristics.Therefore,for the sake of Chinese teaching for children,it is especially crucial to compile a set of highly pertinent localized Chinese textbooks for children.The author has conducted a one-year internship in Chinese as a foreign language in Madrid,Spain.In the course of teaching,I used a Chinese textbook called Kids Way to Chinese.This textbook was compiled by local Chinese teachers in Spain and designed around YCT examination syllabus,according to the physiological,psychological and cognitive characteristics of Spanish children.It offered great help to the author’s Chinese teaching.With this Chinese textbook for children as the analysis object,this article intends to make a concrete and detailed analysis of the textbook from textbook arrangement,characteristics of textbook content,use of textbook,teachers’ feedback and editor’s suggestions,etc.and summarize places worthy of learning from,as well as shortcomings of this textbook.On this basis,some suggestions are put forward on teachers’ teaching methods and the compilation of Chinese textbooks for children.The whole article is divided into the following parts:Chapter One is for introduction,which mainly explains the reason for the selection of topic,literature review,research objective and research method,etc.Chapter Two explains the theoretical basis and principle of the compilation of Chinese textbooks for children.Chapter Three analyzes the textbook Kids Way to Chinese in a systematic and comprehensive way,from general introduction,textbook arrangement,characteristics of textbook content and use of textbook.Chapter Four analyzes teacher’s questionnaire and editor’s interview.Chapter Five analyzes the embodiment of the principle of the compilation of Chinese textbooks in Kids Way to Chinese and makes some suggestions on teachers’ teaching methods and thecompilation of Chinese textbooks for children.The final part conclusion summarizes the full text and points out places that remain to be studied in depth in this article.
