| School is a professional institution.As the principal to manage the school,we should not only follow the law of education,but also respect the specialization in school management.With the introduction of the Principal Professional Standards and other series of policies,the government has put forward new requirements for the quality structure of contemporary principals.Through the work of Songjiang District combined with domestic and foreign principal selection experience,this study is to put forward the ideas and countermeasures to optimize the primary and secondary school principal selection mechanism,and then improve the quality of the construction of primary and secondary school principals in Songjiang district,based on the problems and causes exploration under the requirements of principal specialization.By using the comparative research method,questionnaire method,interview method and action research method,this study focuses on the history of principal selection work in Songjiang District,investigate the current practice,and then puts forward the countermeasures to solve the existing problems on the basis of relevant experience abroad.It is found that the primary and secondary school principals are generally satisfied with the full competition and they think this work has promoted their professional development and education reform.They suggest the selection should lay stress on the investigation of “school management and teachers’ guidance”,the superfine principals should be the main judges in the selection,one should be the principal of the same school for six to fifteen years,and build the “up and down” mechanism and so on.It is also found that there are many problems in the current selection mechanism.The specialization of selection standards is not in high degree.The assessment and application of the principals’ performance have not been fully used.The selection process has not been complete yet.There is a lack of flexible operation of “up and down” mechanism and so on.In view of the problems existing in the selection of primary and secondary school principals,the following countermeasures are put forward.Firstly,establish the guiding principles that weaken the influence of impression in evaluation,emphasize the assessment of professional competence,dilute the administrative system,and pay attention to the professional ranks of management.Secondly,follow the principles of human nature,objectivity,comprehensiveness and encouragement in principal selection.Thirdly,improve the basic conditions,the performance evaluation,the selection procedure and the supervision mechanism of the primary and secondary school principal selection from the perspective of specialization. |
