Safety education is very important for the middle school students in the stage of compulsory education, and disaster education is the embodiment of safety education. At present, however, the disaster education in the middle schools in the stage of compulsory education places particular emphasis on form while neglects the importance of penetrating the disaster education into geographical teaching. The research tries to answer how to effectively penetrate the disaster education into geography classroom teaching based on Geographical Curriculum Standards in Compulsory Education(edition 2011)thus to enhance the disaster knowledge, skills and awareness of middle school students in the stage of compulsory education, and provides some enlightenment and suggestions for the geography education workers to carry out the disaster education.Based on Geographical Curriculum Standards in Compulsory Education(edition 2011),the features of the students and the contents of natural disasters, taking the practical cases of penetrating the disaster education into geography classroom teaching of middle schools in the stage of compulsory education as research subjects, the research mainly adopts the Case Study method to design the practical cases of disaster education based on geological disasters and meteorological disasters. The author chooses S Middle School in urban areas and X Middle School in rural areas in Lanzhou to respectively implement the practical cases of geological disasters and meteorological disasters. After the implementation of cases, combined with the case performers' self-reflection as well as students' and teachers' feedback, the author analyzes the cases from the effect of case implementation as well as innovation and deficiency of case design, and proposes improvement suggestions aiming at different cases. The research on each case consists of four parts, namely case design, case implementation, case analysis and case summary.Through the case design, implementation, analysis and summary, the author draws the following conclusion: the middle schools in the stage of compulsory education should penetrate the disaster education into geography classroom teaching from three aspects including disaster knowledge obtaining, disaster skills mastering and disaster awareness promoting of the students.Students can obtain the disaster knowledge combing with the real-time environmental and meteorological data as well as network safety resourceintegrating the contents of teaching materials, such as combining with the real-time monitoring materials of air quality in Lanzhou;the disaster skills can be mastered by encouraging the students to actively participate in the geographical practices, such as guiding the students to draw the earthquake disaster prevention map of the school;students can promote the disaster awareness combing with the students' living environment and local geography, like discussions aiming at “How Lanzhou free public transportation copes with the disastrous weather”.Finally, the author puts forward improvement suggestions aiming at the insufficiencies of the research, discusses the popularization of the disaster education cases in the research, and looks forward to the prospects of the problems which need exploring in penetrating the disaster education into geography classroom teaching in the stage of compulsory education in the further research.
