Study Of The Educational Function Of College Student Associations

College students associations are the important part of talent cultivation in colleg es and universities.To research the educational functions of college students associati ons is of great significance for pushing forward the political and ideological education in colleges and universities.The paper takes the educational functions of college students associations as the study object in order to analyze and discuss the functions of ideological and political education in college students associations,which focuses on four aspects.First of all,from the political,educational,psychological,economic and sociological perspective,the paper analyzes the activities and development directions of college students associations using of literature research method,data analysis method and survey research method.College students associations are generalized into research-based associations,innovation-based associations,arts and sports associations,and public service associations.On the basis of the thorough analysis,the paper illuminates the different features of college students associations from four aspects.This is activities of associations,members of associations,management of associations and function of association.It lays an academic and theoretical basis on the paper and also provides a good foundation for further study of educational function in college students associations.Secondly,the paper,through the discussion of realization of educational function,solution of functional classification and summary of basic approach in college students associations,comprehensively elaborates the educational function of the current associations in political and ideological education.On the one hand,in the educational functions of colleges and universities,it shows that college students associations have an important effect on expanding position in its political and ideological education,enriching campus cultural life,improving comprehensive abilities of college students,promoting the socialization of college students.On the other hand,the paper,according to the characteristic of educational function,classifies the associations in explicit and implicit ways,and summarizes the methods of teaching in college students associations.Thirdly,based on a huge number of statistical data and interview materials,it discusses common problems of these associations.It introduces and explains the current situation of educational function in college students associations at different levels,such as school level,social level,and student level.According to the epistemology of Marxist dialectical materialism theory of knowledge,the paper summarizes the main issues in educational function of college students associations,for example,the backward of study management style,the limitation of teachers,the imperfect of management system,the lack of service awareness,the unification of activities,the need of improving the ability of core members,the difference of association members,and the insufficiency of communication among members.Depending on it,the paper induces the underlying reasons for what prevents college students associations to play a role in educational function.Finally,based on the existing problems and reason-analysis of education function in college students associations,the paper puts forward three measures to further dev eloping.At the beginning,we should strengthen the theoretical guidance of college stu dents associations,guide the direction of education function through scientific theory and make it play a better part.For the lack of theoretical guidance,it generates the dev iation of the specific problems which matters in the aspect of results and objectives in teaching.The paper presents that we should make full use of new media resources to e nhance the modern community education theory,to make the purpose of the theory m ore realistic,to test and renew the theory by sustainable practices.Secondly,in order t o achieve the purpose of teaching and create a good cultural environment,we should c oncentrate on the improvement of the cultural construction of college student associations.In response to the point of cultivating a positive campus culture and building “spi ritual home of students”,it expounds how to enhance promotion of cultural taste in act ivities to accelerate the development of campus culture construction and create a good Ideological and political education environment.The third one is to improve the effec tiveness of the activities of college students associations and constantly extend educati onal function in college students associations.According to actual requirement that co llege students want to expand their horizon and promote their abilities by social practi ces of these activities,it suggests that carrying out more public activities is helpful for the associations.We should make students realize self-value in the dedication and ma ke the content and ways of these activities advance with the times,also give students more chances to understand new development of our country,new situation of our soc iety,and changing developments of our school.It is also of great importance to highli ght the purpose and direction of ideological and political education.
