An Analysis Of Changes Of Female Images In News Photos On International Women's Days In People's Daily(1950-2019)

Since the international Women's Day was introduced into China in 1924,celebrations related to the festival have been held in China.The paper uses all the news photos of women's images published in the People's Daily from 1950 to 2019 on Women's Day every year as the research object.Through the analysis of the reproduction of women's images in the news photos,it describes the women's images in these news photos at different stages,reproduces the situation and clarifies the different characteristics of the female images in these different stages that the media has given,thereby insights into the changes in the mainstream media's concept of women(the role of women,expectations,etc.),and reveal the reasons for these changes.The introduction part introduces the research background,significance,and objects of this paper,puts forward the main research questions,framework,and explains the research methods.The main part first conducts data statistics through the establishment of categories,and mainly sorts out the basic information of the news photos involving female images on International Women's Days at various historical stages;secondly,the visual text is analyzed by text analysis.In-depth description and extraction of the typical female visual images of the current period;once again using visual rhetoric to summarize the evolution of the female visual image of the "March 8" International Women's Day in the People's Daily over the past 70 years,and analyzes the causes of the changes from multiple dimensions.Finally,it considers the "People's Daily" International Women's Day female visual rhetoric strategy.The research found that the representation of female images in news photos is dedicated to showing the unity and intimacy of the characters in the picture,and is intended to convey a peaceful and objective viewing experience,and strive to express the original state of the filming,so that the presentation of the image can be achieved Go beyond the mechanical record and become a "strategic" method of conveying meaning.In different historical periods,"People's Daily" Women's Day news photos involving women's images respectively present specific main visual images,and the multi-cultural connotation is completed in the reproduction of female visual images.This is the result of the combined forces of the transformation of political connotation,the migration of media news concepts,and the iterative update of social women's concepts;news photos can be used well and stories of women in the new era can be used through text,content and rhetoric.
