Urban Community Citizens’ Political Efficacy Research On The Impact Of Political Participation

This paper focuses on the status of citizen political efficiency and political participation in the urban community of Guiyang after the Guiyang City Sub-district Office is a community service center.Through the analysis,the influence of political efficacy on political participation is analyzed and based on the research conclusions.Suggestions.The survey area is for Chinese citizens living in the urban community of Huaxi District.The questionnaire is taken from the topic of China general social survey(CGSS)2010.This survey divides political efficacy into two independent variable dimensions: external political efficacy and internal political efficacy;divides political participation into three dependent variable dimensions: community affairs participation,election voting participation,and protest petition participation;Set 5 control variables: gender,age,political identity,education level,and income.Firstly,the descriptive statistics of the survey results,and then use the binary logistic regression method to analyze the influence of independent variables on the dependent variables,and explore the role of control variables on the dependent variables.The results of this study show that the level of external political efficacy of urban community citizens in Guiyang is higher than the inner political efficacy.Among the three political participation methods,community affairs participate most.The external political efficacy and internal political efficacy of citizens have a significant impact on the participation of community affairs.The higher the external political efficiency,the more likely they are to participate in community affairs,and the internal political efficacy is similar.The sense of political efficacy also has a mediating effect on the participation of community affairs.The external political efficacy makes the three control variables of political identity,age and income change the significance of community affairs participation.The inner political efficacy is about political identity and age.The control variables have a mediating effect.There is also a mutual influence between external political efficacy and internal political efficacy.The other party with a high level may also be high,and participation in community affairs will be more active.The sense of political efficacy did not have a significant impact and obvious mediating effect on vote-taking participation and protest petition participation.The four control variables of political identity,age,education and income have some influence on the three ways of political participation.This paper believes that the political efficiency and community affairs of Guiyang City community citizens have achieved good results after the establishment of the Community Service Center.However,the gradient of political participation is still at the middle level of “surface participation” and there is still room for improvement.It is suggested to improve citizens’ political efficiency and political participation by improving the system of citizen political participation,enhancing the income of citizens’ political participation and strengthening the education of citizenship.
