Idolatry is a common phenomenon in the development of adolescents' psychology.It is a process in which adolescents appreciate and accept emotions,accept another person's appearance,values,and behavior patterns,and worship and imitate them.During the adolescence,especially in the middle school,there is a conflict between the ideal self and the real self.The idol as a "reference group" provides more possibilities for self.Therefore,there is no right or wrong of idolatry.The moderate degree and correct method of idolatry is positive and normal.Middle school students can learn good quality from idols and promote social progress.Irrational idol behavior will Caused adverse consequences.In recent years,individual extreme and fanatical idolatry incidents have not only become a hot spot of social concern,but also caused great anxiety to educators and parents.They are worried that the idolatry will cause fluctuations and declines in the academic performance of middle school students.Therefore,they often have a negative attitude towards the idol worship of middle school students,leading to educational contradictions and family conflicts with students.This paper uses the more objective and scientific data analysis to uncover the true veil of the idol worship of middle school students.It aims to reduce the blind concerns of teachers and parents,eliminate prejudice,and provide a reference for schools and families to educate and better guide young people's rationality.Idol worship promotes good communication and communication between teachers,parents and middle school students.This study takes Jinan L Middle School as an example to conduct an empirical study on the current situation of idol worship among middle school students.The main content consists of three parts.The first part is a comparative analysis of the idolatry behaviors of different gender groups and grades to show the differences in the characteristics of idol worship among different groups of middle school students.The second part explores the factors influencing the choice of idols among middle school students to show the choice of middle school students.Idols pay more attention to the characteristics of idols;the third part discusses the influence of idolatry on the academic performance of middle school students.The results show that:(1)With the increase of age,the idol worship behavior of middle school students gradually increases.(2)"Singer","actor" and "sports star" are the main types of idolatry among middle school students.(3)The types of idolatry differ significantly in gender and age.In the choice of idol types,boys are more inclined to worship "sports stars" and "celebrities of all walks of life",girls are more inclined to worship "singers","actors" and "parents,teachers and classmates and other people around."In the choice of idol gender,both boys and girls tend to choose male idols.(4)"Quality and Personality Charm" and "Professionalism and Professional Ability" are the main contents and reasons of worship.(5)Academic achievement is not significantly related to the degree of idolatry and the type of idolatry,but the rational worship of teachers and classmates and other role models has certain benefits for academic achievement.The article concludes with a theoretical explanation of the psychological development stage theory and gender theory and the above research findings.
