Performed Culture Approach is a relatively new type of teaching method for second language that combines language,culture and communication,emphasizing learning language through the experiencing and performing about the culture of target language culture.This study applies the teaching method to the elementary Chinese listening and conversation class,and mainly tests the actual teaching effect in elementary spoken Chinese through the comparison of teaching experiments.The teaching effect is combined with the significant analysis of the students’ oral test scores,the classroom and after-school performances,questionnaire surveys and teacher-student interviews.The results show that the approach is more effective than the popular situational method in spoken language teaching to improve learners’ language skills and cross-cultural communication skills.It is a second language teaching method suitable for elementary Chinese spoken language teaching.In the meanwhile It can promote the improvement of students’ listening level.In the course of the research,it was found that students’ enthusiasm and individual differences,class size,using of medium language,inputting of communicative culture,contents of teaching materials,qualities of teachers and other related issues may affect the actual teaching effect.The thesis puts forward targeted improvement measures: improving teachers’ basic literacy and pedagogy theoretical literacy;adjusting the application of pedagogy according to the actual teaching;textbook writing focusing on communicative reality and communicative culture,showing complete communicative events;establishing unified communicative culture standards of inputting.etc to expect follow-up research to go deeper.
