Image is the most intuitive representation of plastic art,and impression is a subjective concept made up of several images.Film is one of the most important modern plastic arts.The cognition and development of Chinese people’s impression of the West has a long-term influence on the construction,change and reconstruction of the image of the West in Chinese films.The western image in mainland films is a mirror of the mainland’s perception of the ’other’ and ’self’ in the west.Since China joined WTO,more and more in-depth exchanges between China and the West have made the shaping of western images and impressions more and more important.Considering the current status of globalization,the digital age and ’blockbuster introduction’ give a large number of Western images an opportunity to export to the Mainland.Under this circumstance,the Western impression constructed by the Chinese people is essentially a Western "written" by Westerners,and Not the real "Western";from the perspective of film creation,there are "ugly","beautifying" and "contradictory" characters in the western image shaped by the mainland.The reason why mainland films shape the western image is focused on business pursuits,self-cognitive and ideological guidance,the lack of global vision,aesthetic anxiety,and creative clutter in the Western images them shape need to be solved urgently.Therefore,this article uses China’s accession to WTO as the time point,and the Western images in Mainland movies as Examples,with the help of’images’ in objective images and ’impressions’ in subjective consciousness,to better understand the West and self,and try to solve the proposition of how ’mainland films can better shape the West’,thereby improving the status of East and West for double misreading of self and otherness.In the introduction,the author discusses the ’West’ and ’image’ and summarizesthe research status,analyzes the reason for setting the time point ’Since China joined WTO’,and discusses the ’impression’ and ’image’ in the subjective consciousness of the Chinese people.Based on this,the concept of ’Western image’ as a research object is defined as accurately as possible.The first chapter is an in-depth explanation of the research perspective,that is,the origin and significance of Western image shaping;the second chapter describes the characterization of the research object,that is,the problem of ’what is a western image’ is solved.The third chapter is to explain the creative source of the research object,that is,the problem of ’why to shape such a western image’ is solved.The fourth chapter is explaining the existing problems and improvement measures of the research object,that is,the problem of ’how to better shape the western image’ is solved. |
