Zhang Nai’s works is rich and colorful.Since the Ming Dynasty,Zhang Nai’s prose,especially his essays(xiaopin wen),has attracted people’s attention.But the relevant comments have always been scattered,and there has never been a comprehensive and systematic study,needing to be studied deeply and comprehensively.By means of comprehensively and carefully investigating Zhang Nai’s family background,experience,friendship and writings,we can deeply probes into the thoughts,characteristics and achievements of Zhang Nai’s prose.Firstly,in consideration of all his prose works,we can see that Zhang Nai have three schools,Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,in thought,especially Buddhism and Confucianism.Zhang Nai’s belief in not complaining poverty and self-defense in life has also profoundly influenced his prose style.At the same time,Zhang Nai’s prose also reflects his political thought of striving for the opposition party and not setting up a door,and his thought that learning must to be useful and " be understood by heart".Secondly,in terms of the artistic style of prose,Zhang Nai’s prose creation is rich and diverse in style.It is shown from the following three aspects: the light and individual creative tendency,the way of expression that good at discussion and with rigorous structure and the rhyming or free from parallelism,and emotional language style.Last but not least,In the aspect of literary criticism,Zhang Nai’s main attention is focused on Eight-party essay(Bagu wen)and the "spirit" prose,which is deeply influenced by the literature of the Public Security School.On the basis of the above,we are able to objectively summarizes Zhang Nai’s position and influence in the field of Eight-party essay,politics,learning and literature.
