| Basketball is indispensable for sports fans and NBA is the palace in basketball world.Domestic basketball fans are not only interested in the game of NBA by watching the video,but also interested in reading the news about NBA.For this reason,the author has selected the original reports about the analysis of the prospects of NBA teams from ESPN website,and translated them into Chinese.The author hopes that these translations can help Chinese fans understand basketball culture and enjoy it.Under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory,the author takes the analysis of the linguistic characteristics of NBA news as the research point to discuss how to faithfully and smoothly translate NBA news into Chinese.Through this study,the author concluded that we can adopt translation methods and skills including free translation,literal translation,class shift,transliteration,forward translation and so on to achieve lexical equivalence,syntactical equivalence,textual equivalence and stylistic equivalence in the translation of NBA news.At the same time,the author hopes to attract more scholars to study the translation of NBA news. |
