In recent years, with the acceleration of globalization, international exchanges have become more and more frequent.Web news translation plays an increasingly important role in promoting the internationalization process and international publicity of major domestic organizations. However, because some news translation doesn’t get rid of Chinglish, the English web news of some organizations cannot function well on information transmission and international publicity. This translation practice report is based on the author’s news translation practice in the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence. The author selects some English translations of CAAI news as cases, aiming to study how to improve the quality of translation under Eugene Nida’s functional equivalence theory,so as to promote the international publicity of the CAAI.The author also would like to provide suitable news text for the English target readers,in order to make them get similar reading experience with the original readers.By analyzing the characteristics of news texts of the CAAI,the author summarizes the text type and stylistic features of such texts, describes the feasibility of applying functional equivalence theory in translating CAAI news and analyzes category nouns, titles and involved sentences in combination with specific cases in translation projects.Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, the author is able to effectively solve the general difficulties in the translation process, thus improving the accuracy and readability of Chinese-English translation. In addition, the author also hopes that this report can contribute to the future research of the English translation in related fields.
