During my internship at the Kunshan Campus of the PLA College of Foreign Languages,the courses I taught were comprehensive courses,generally around the text.A large number of repeated readings and recitations of texts,repeated words and text exercises,less activities,for foreign students,sometimes can not arouse interest in learning.Due to these problems,Chinese teaching needs a method to change the status quo.Among the many teaching modes,the topical teaching mode is more flexible and novel,and it is easy to master when applied.Therefore,the author implements thematic teaching in comprehensive courses.Although the topic-based teaching model has been more commonly used in English as a second language teaching,it has not yet achieved large-scale application in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and a mature system has not yet been formed.Therefore,the topic-based teaching model has been studied The application situation is very necessary.This article starts with the theme-based teaching theory and studies the application of elementary foreign language comprehensive courses.Based on the analysis of the theoretical knowledge and characteristics of the theme-based teaching model and the principles of theme-based instructional design,the four practical Chinese teaching materials for foreigners The topics in the primary part of "Chinese Textbook","New Practical Chinese Textbook","Road to Success",and "Development of Chinese" were investigated and classified,and the main ideas of the primary textbook of Chinese as a foreign language were changed from the 1980 s to the 10 th.It is richer,and the textbooks pay more attention to cultivating students’ cultural qualities and the spread of culture.Based on the actual situation of students in Kunshan campus,based on the theory of thematic teaching mode,the thematic teaching practice is carried out for students of elementary Chinese level in Kunshan campus,the theme is designed,the teaching content is determined,and cultural activities are experienced.After the teaching,the students are surveyed and interviewed to summarize the implementation of thematic teaching.The themes are "food culture","traffic tourism",and "traditional festivals".The following sub-themes are presented to illustrate the teaching design cases.Draw conclusions and revelations.The results show that thethematic teaching model has certain advantages in the elementary Chinese comprehensive course at the Kunshan Campus of the PLA College of Foreign Languages,which greatly increases the students ’interest in learning Chinese and the students are more active in the teaching activities.Can be used in elementary Chinese comprehensive courses.It follows from this that the thematic teaching model can provide reference for Chinese teachers,provide more teaching methods,make the Chinese classroom lively and interesting,and increase the initiative of students.This has certain implications for the design of elementary Chinese teaching.Inspiring.Finally,it summarizes the shortcomings of the theme-based teaching model and reflects on it,with a view to further improving in the subsequent teaching.This study hopes to contribute a small amount of energy to the development of Chinese language teaching for foreigners in China,and to bring a little inspiration to Chinese teachers.
