This paper takes the coffin painting in the period of the Sixteenth State of the Wei and Jin Dynasty of Hexi as the research object,and takes the collection,arrangement and interpretation of the coffin painting in the period of the Sixteenth State of the Wei and Jin Dynasty of Hexi as the main task.The paper sorted out the coffin paintings in Yumen area,Jiayuguan area,Jiuquan area and Gaotai area respectively.The excavation of these coffin paintings is mostly recorded in the excavation report,some of which are hidden in the Gaotai Museum and Jiayuguan New Town Wei and Jin murals tomb museum.The content,composition style and painting style of the coffin-plate painting in Hexi region are roughly the same,but there are slight differences between the regions.For Hexi,Wei,Jin,the 16 states of the coffin plate painting presents more common than personality.The picture on the coffin plate in the period of the Sixteenth State of the Wei and Jin Dynasty of Hexi reflects the thought of the soul rising to heaven.The image of the coffin is divided into mythological theme and social life theme.Mythology and social life both reflect the funeral belief that the ancients wanted to rise to heaven after death.The difference is that the mythical theme represented by Fuxi Nuwa shows the destination of ascension,while the social life theme represented by the tomb owner’s travel map shows the process of ascension.The picture on the Hexi coffin plate has a fixed position on the coffin plate,and the space inside the wooden coffin accords with Wu Hong’s "miniature universe mode ".The lid of the coffin and the back baffle symbolize the sky boundary.The baffle represents the entrance to the sky boundary,and the side plate of the coffin shows the process of the tomb owner to the sky boundary.The image inside the wooden coffin and the space of the wooden coffin board form the whole process of the dead soul rising to heaven.Through the comparison of burial utensils and funeral customs,combined with political and population mobility,it can be seen that Hexi coffin painting spread and affected Gaochang and Northern Wei two regions.The influence of Hexi on the burial utensils of Gaochang and Northern Wei Dynasty is embodied in the paper painting decoration form,wooden coffin shape,image subject matter,coffin bed and so on.The coffin paintings in the Sixteenth State of theWei and Jin Dynasties in Hexi had strong influence on the preservation and extension of funeral culture continued important contributions. |
