During the period of Wei-Jin and Sixteen Kingdoms, ethnic minorities moved to the interior. The most powerful one was XianBei Nationality, which lived more than 140 years in Hexi district and established their own country"Nanliang"there. The residents made a great contribution to the region in culture and other respects. Their costume has new characteristics different from those of other ethnic groups and become an important reflection for its culture.Their costume mostly was made of local materials, such as animal fur, cotton, hemp and so on. They queued different hairs, some shaved all hair except for vertex and then formed a rope or some ropes to the shoulder, and some made hairs to a small bun on the vertex. The main costume styles were Pao, Ru, Kuzhe which was more popular. The local residents wore Zhe on the upside and Ku at the underside without Qiu Shang outside.
